Lab 2 Notes/Instructions

Lab Instructions:
-Transfer over to membranes with the protein on it.
-Treat with 5% dry milk in TE buffer.
-Put on rocker for 4 hours (called Blocking)
-Wash 3-5 times with plain buffer.
-Treat with 5% dry milk buffer + 1/20,000 dilution of antibody against GFP. (The antibody will bind to specific amino acids)
-Wash again and then treat with tagged antibody against rabbit Ab.
-The redder (darker) it is, the more green flourescent protein will be expressed.
